Henry Claude Drennan, 86, passed away on Saturday May 14th, 2022, at his home in Andrews, Tx. Henry was born 9-9-1935 in Hermeleigh, Tx to Izora Cox and Fred H Drennan. After losing Fred at a very young age, Izora married Frank Pride who immediately took Henry in as his own and became his provider, father and mentor. Henry was no stranger to hard work. He left High School in the 10th grade to learn the trades of mechanics and truck driving. In 1954, Henry enlisted in the US Navy, where he proudly served his country for four years. Henry married Darlene Faye Harris on October 26th, 1954, and they finally settled in Andrews, Tx. They had 3 children – Debra Lynn, Lenita Faye, and Ronald Claude. Henry took great pride in his family; he was the anchor, the glue, and the perfect example of love and strength that will live on for many more generations. Papa, as he was known to most, is remembered for his funny antics, lively spirit, and outright ornery way. He loved being a pilot, fishing trips with the boys and spoiling his grandkids. He made beautiful gifts in the wood shop behind his house and could grow a garden to feed a king. He loves to show off at the roller rink, ride his bicycle backwards and simply make people laugh. His heart was bigger than the Grand Canyon and he never turned away anyone in need. He was one of a kind. He is survived by his son, Ronald Drennan, two grandsons, Heath Richards and Daniel Drennan; and two granddaughters, Kami Donahue and Cassie Alexander; his brother Wayne Pride and wife Genna; brother-in-law Glen Benefield; 18 great grandkids and 6 great-great grandkids. Henry is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Darlene. His two daughters Debbie and Lenita. One grandson James. His parents Izora, Fred and Frank and his sister Luella Benefield. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 17th at 11am at Andrews Corgill Funeral Home Chapel. Glen Hammock to officiate.
