May Atkinson Couger, (Madie) was born November 30, 1940 in Liberty, Texas to Marvin and Frankie Atkinson. She passed away peacefully at her residence on October 21, 2022.
She married the love of her life John Couger in Midland, Texas and they spent many happy years together watching their children and grandchildren grow before he passed in November 2002.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Wayne and Ronnie Atkinson and sister Velda Gay.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Bland and husband John of Saginaw, Texas; son Paul Couger of Midland, Texas; son, Jim Couger and wife Lauryn of Waxahachie, Texas. Nephew Bubba Pleasant and wife Nina of Cleveland, Texas. Grandchildren Steven Whitney, Amber Vasquez, Mitchell Whitney and fiancé Allie, Samantha Hollums and husband Justin, Hailey Hughes and husband Wes, and Havyn Couger; 10 great-grandchildren Emily, Kyleigh, Kyrain, Jackson, Emma, Hayden, Breckin, Brock, Londyn and Traycen.
Family will gather for a graveside memorial in Midland at Fairview Cemetery on Monday, November 14th @ 1:00pm.
