Robert Joe Moon

Robert Joe Moon, 78, of Andrews passed away in his home January 2, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born July 18, 1937 in Paducah, Texas to Robert A. Moon and Zea Moon. He grew up in Paducah were he graduated from Paducah High School. Bob was an engineering manager for Contel, GTE and Verizon telephone companies for a total of 28 years before retiring in 1998. He was a Mason and a member of the Andrews Lions Club. Bob married Lana Liedtke on September 3, 1965 in Lubbock, Texas. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September of 2015. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Denzel Moon. He is survived by his wife, Lana of Andrews, children Greg Moon of Andrews, Leann Tacker and husband Mike of Lakehills, Texas, grandchildren, Ryan Tessaro of Odessa and Jake Tacker of Lakehills. Bob loved spending time with his family and friends in his "office", on the patio. Always the comedian, Bob filled our lives with laughter. Always the storyteller, he left us with a journal full of precious memories. A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Andrews Home Hospice.
